Produced from what are claimed to be the oldest Shiraz vines in the world (at 165 years old) this wine was matured in a combination of 67% new and 33% seasoned French oak for 2 years.

Totally opaque, black crimson colour, with very deep, dark red black hue. Perfumed aromas of liquorice, blackberry and confectionary are followed by some vanillin spice end notes, showing excellent varietal character and intensity. Dense, rich and extravagantly concentrated, the palate displays flavours of liquorice allsorts, blackberry, confectionary, spice, chocolate bullets and vanilla that fill every corner of the mouth. Velvet smooth tannins create an opulent texture and mouthfeel. Superb length with very long aftertaste of vanilla, liquorice, confectionary and spice. Old vines produce wines with exceptionally fine tannins, making this wine immediately approachable.
