2008 Kooyong Massale Pinot Noir

This Pinot was 100% destemmed and fermented in open vats without inoculation and matured for 12 months in French oak of which 15% was new.
Semi translucent crimson red mauve colour with crimson mauve hue. Aromas of dark cherries, violets, cedar and light cinnamon spice as an end note showing good intensity and strong varietal character. Medium weight the palate possesses good richness with flavours of dark cherries, spice and cedar with a gamey dried meat like back palate. Very fine grained tannins with long aftertaste of spicy dark cherries and dried meat.
Cellar 2-3 years (2012-2013).
