A new discovery for us, Champagne Henriet-Bazin origins date back 5 generations to two families both deeply rooted in Champagne. The Bazin family were grape growers from the village of Verzenay whilst the Henriet family specialised in Champagne production. It was in the late 19th century that the two families united through marriage and today a father and daughter team are producing a range of outstanding champagnes from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. The family own 3 hectares in Verzenay and Verzy (both Grand Cru villages) renowed for its Pinot Noir that’s so highly sought after by the likes of top Champagne houses such as Krug.

A Superb rich, full bodied Champagne that shows great persistence, character and freshness.

A Pinot dominate blend made up of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Excellent creamy white mousse with a pale gold base wine colour and exceptionally fine bead showing great persistence. Heady aromatics of baked bread, yeast lees, oily nut like characters and brioche jump from the glass with toast and citrus end notes. Rich and full bodied the palate has a creamy textural feel but finishes fresh and lively. Bold flavours of yeast lees, citrus, bready characters and toast are followed by subtle dried honey and cashew. Superb richness and power with an exceptionally long finish of toast, bready characters, yeasty brioche and oily cashews.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
