2008 Helen's Hill Single Vineyard Shiraz

An excellent cool climate Shiraz from Scott McCarthy, who despite being the 'ripe old age' of 36, has already amassed an amazing total of 23 vintages, both in Australia and overseas. This wine has been matured for 18 months in French Oak barrels (45% New, 55% Old).

Deep purple dark red colour with deep dark red mauve hue. Aromas of ripe blackberry, liquorice allsorts and confectionary. The palate displays excellent concentration with flavours of ripe dark blackberry, liquorice and confectionary followed by a very persistent blackpepper character that explodes on the back palate. Exceptional length. Fine grained tannins with very long aftertaste of blackpepper, liquorice and blackberry.
Cellar 3-4 years.
