2008 Grampians Estate Rutherford Sparkling Shiraz

A big rich densely concentrated Sparkling Shiraz.
Creamy purple coloured mousse showing excellent hold. Exceptionally fine bead showing good persistence. Dark red base wine colour. The nose displays good perfumed lift with scents of ripe blackberry, plum and liquorice followed by some dark chocolate and vanillin notes. Very rich the palate is quite voluptuous packed with luscious ripe fruit flavours of blackberry, dark plum, dark chocolate and a touch of liquorice. Superb fruit concentration in conjunction with a creamy like texture provide the wine with an opulent mouthfeel. Long aftertaste of dark plum, dark chocolate and ripe blackberry.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2011-2015).
