Launched in 2001, wines for the Glaymond label are sourced from the Tscharke family vineyards established in 1961, which are planted to the classic varietals of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro and Grenache. Long recognised for their magnificent fruit production (the source of super premium fruit for some of Barossa's most prestigious wine labels), Damien was determined to develop his own iconic brand to reflect the quality and integrity of the fruit.

A typically powerhouse styled Shiraz from Damien Tscharke with a level of explosive richness that could quite easily command a price tag of $50 plus.

Maturation took place in new and seasoned French oak for 24 months with only the best barrels selected for the final blend. Totally impenetrable black purple colour that stains the side of the glass with very deep black purple hue. The nose displays lifted aromas of ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some liquorice strap and confectionary notes showing excellent intensity and varietal character. Super rich and loaded with opulent, decadently textured layers of fruit the palate delivers flavours of ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and vanillin confectionary followed by some spice on the back palate. Superb concentration and depth in combination with impeccable fruit quality. Velvet smooth tannins with very long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, vanillin confectionary and spice.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2011-2016).
