A blast from the past...many drinks under the bridge since we last stocked a Fettercairn. It makes a welcome return in this indie bottling from Douglas Laing. Like others from the Provenance collection, this is non chill filtered and drawn from a single cask. Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2016 at 46%. Expect aromas and flavours of vanilla, hints of charred oak and a sweet gristiness combined with cereal, citrus, melted butter and gentle spice.

Founded in 1824, Fettercairn is presently owned by Whyte & Mackay and represents one of their key blending resources, two others being Dalmore and Tamnavulin. We remember the brand being traditionally packaged and marketed as "Old Fettercairn", however since 2002, the bottle, name and packaging have changed. In 2010, the 12 Year Old which had been the core expression was scrapped in favour of the new "Fettercairn Fior" which is composed of 15% highly peated whisky.
