2008 Domaine La Barroche Terroir Chateauneuf Du Pape

Deep dark crimson red colour with brick red hue. The wine does not have the depth of colour that most of the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape’s possessed and looks much more advanced with some brick red already making an appearance. Aromas of dark raspberry are to the fore followed by some plum, liquorice and spice with a hint of earth as an end note. Medium to full bodied the palate displays good concentration with flavours of spicy dark raspberry, black cherry and liquorice with a light meaty overtone and the spice persisting onto the back palate. Very fine grained tannins with aftertaste of dark raspberry, liquorice and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2011-2015).
