2008 Cullen Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

This wine is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc with maturation taking place in French oak of which two thirds were new for a period of 11 months. Deep dark red colour with dark brick red mauve hue. Delicate aromas of cedar, mulberry and tobacco with a hint of tea leaf also present. Light to medium weight with a very elegant palate structure displaying refined flavours of blackcurrant, cedar and spice followed by a hint of cigar box. Very dry finish with a dry tightly knit tannin structure. Aftertaste of cedar, mulberry and spice.
