Chris Ringland stands at the summit of world Shiraz producers (Robert Parker places him in the same leugue as Guigal, Chapoutier and Roman Bratasiuk of Clarendon Hills). Most will know Ringland for his part in Rockford wines. He presently has his hand in several pies, including as winemaker for Pillar Box and U.S. Importer Dan Philips' 'Marquis Philips' brand, taking over from Sarah and Sparky Marquis who left the enterprise to start up 'Mollydooker.'

This is Chris’s signature label and the exuberant packaging mirrors what's inside the bottle. It has been matured in a combination of American and French oak hogsheads for twenty months.
"CR" is a super concentrated, flavour packed, fruit bomb of a wine produced from Ringland's preferred source for Barossa Shiraz - the Ebenezer sub-district.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with very deep dark red black hue displaying excellent viscosity. Lifted aromas of liquorice allsorts, confectionary, blackberry and blackpepper. Monumental concentration with dense dark voluptuous palate flavours of liquorice, aniseed, confectionary and blackpepper. Perfect balance showing no signs of heat on the finish. Velvet smooth tannins with very long aftertaste of liquorice, ripe blackberry and blackpepper.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2010-2013)
Alc 16.5%.
