2008 Chateau La Gaffeliere 1er Grand Cru Classe Saint Emilion

A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Opaque black crimson red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose displays perfumed scents of blackcurrants, violets, mulberry and cedar followed by some spice and earthy end notes. Medium bodied the palate possesses good richness with flavours of ripe blackcurrant and mulberry to the fore followed by some cedar and a touch of earthy cigar box with a spicy back palate. Very fine grained slightly dryish but balanced tannins provide the wine with beautiful structure. Excellent persistence with long blackcurrant, ripe mulberry, earthy cigar box and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 8-10 years (2019-2021).
