2008 Cape Mentelle Shiraz

The wine was matured for 14 months in predominantly Burgundian coopered French oak barriques, 30% of which were new. Opaque crimson red dark purple colour with dark crimson red hue. Aromas of blackberry, liquorice, confectionary and blackpepper. Medium weight the palate shows more elegance and is not as powerful as the 2007 vintage. Flavours of blackberry, liquorice and spice followed by some blackpepper and toast on the back palate. Very fine grained perfectly integrated tannins. Aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, toast and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2013-2014).
