Designed for the US market the packaging and branding of the Big Woop wines are for our tastes pretty terrible. However, the wine quality, price point and added bonus of a one litre bottle more than make up for the packaging delivering beaut quaffing for the fast approaching holiday season. A blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Petit Verdot. Opaque dark red colour with deep dark crimson mauve hue. Aromas of blackberry, plum and spice. The palate is a real surprise delivering plenty of bang for your buck with ripe joosy dark plum, ripe blackberry and dark cherry flavours with some spice on the back palate. Quite mouth filling with very good length. Very fine grained soft tannins with aftertaste of blackberry, dark plum and spice. Fantastic everyday drinking – with quaffers of this quality in the market place who needs casks?
Drink over the next 2-3 years. Alc 14.5%
