2008 Balnaves of Coonawarra The Blend

A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 1% other miscellaneous varieties this wine was matured in new and used French oak for 15 months.

Outstanding saturated black deep purple colour with very deep black purple hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, plum and spearmint followed by a touch of cedar displaying good intensity. Full bodied generous palate flavours of ripe blackcurrant, dark chocolate and mulberry followed by some spicy cedar and mint on the back palate all framed within a firm dry tannin structure. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and cedar. Looking very youthful at present this wine will benefit from further time in the cellar.
