2008 Balgownie Estate Chardonnay

An outstanding rich, creamy textured, almost decadent style of Chardonnay.
Hand picked from 26 year old vines the wine was matured in a combination of 30% new and 70% seasoned French oak for 11 months.
Bright straw colour with pale straw water like hue. The nose displays good intensity with aromas of white peach, toasty oak, cashew and spice. Full bodied with excellent concentration the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of white peach, cashew and nougat with some toasty honeycombe characters on the back palate. Clean dry finish with a creamy texture. Excellent concentration and length with a long persistent aftertaste of white peach, cashew, nougat and honeycomb.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
