Yalumba's efforts to produce flavour filled wines with strong varietal character for under ten dollars per bottle have been consistently successful. Known as the 'Y' series, each wine in the collection is distinguished by a symbol. In this case, the scarecrow represents the importance of ‘community’ to Yalumba, when in the weeks leading up to the biennial Barossa Vintage Festival, the Barossa community bands together to craft scarecrows, which are traditionally seen as ‘guardians of abundance’.

A well made fruit driven quaffer.
Deep crimson mauve colour with mauve hue. Aromas of cedar, blackcurrant, dark cherry and spice. Medium bodied, displaying good weight for it’s price point with flavours of dark cherry, cedar and blackcurrant, followed by a touch of tobacco. Dry fine grained tannins but in balance. Aftertaste of dark cherry and cedar.
Cellar 1-2 years. (2011-2012)
