2007 Vasse Felix Heytesbury Red

A superb Bordeaux inspired blend comprised of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec and 13% Petit Verdot. Maturation took place in French oak of which 92% was new and 8% older French oak for a period of 18 months.

Margaret River Cabernet at its very best.
Opaque black dark red colour with very deep dark red black hue. Classic perfumed Bordeaux like nose of violets, cedar, spice, blackcurrant and earth followed by some cigar box end notes. A superb aromatic profile already showing great complexity. The palate combines finesse and power delivering flavours of ripe blackcurrant, violet infusions, spice and cedar followed by a touch of earth and some cigar box back palate flavours. Superb depth and length. Refined aristocratic structure with very fine grained, slightly firm but balanced tannins. Exceptionally long aftertaste of blackcurrant, tobacco, spice and cedar.
