2007 in McLaren Vale was one of the driest growing seasons since the 1950’s with some crop levels down by 50%. Nevertheless, Tyrrell's 35 year old Willunga vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale produced outstanding fruit.

This wine is the triumph of this years 'Rufus Stone' releases leaving in the shadows, what should have been a formidable red, the Rufus Stone Heathcote Shiraz.
Very deep crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Top note of violet and plum followed by vanilla and spice. The palate is ‘joosy’, loaded with ripe fruit flavours. Layers of vanilla, blackberry, ripe plum, liquorice and black pepper fill the mouth. Excellent length and depth of flavour. Supporting fine tannins. Very long aftertaste of vanilla, plum, liquorice and blackberry.
Cellar 3-4 years (2012-2013)
Alc/Vol: 14.5% Stelvin.
