Following on from the outrageous success of the Berlin tasting, Eduardo Chadwick continues his bold road show of benchmarking, inviting MW's from around the globe to taste Sena against the world's most glorified names in luxury wine. No questioning the man's marketing instinct - it takes a lot of guts to willingly place your own wine in a blind tasting against the best of the world and not be afraid of the consequences.

An amazing Chilean blend.

In a recent line up conducted October last year in Hong Kong, the 2007 Sena ranked fourth, above Bordeaux's top five first growths. Elsewhere it has continued to consistently out perform almost every top flight French and Italian counterpart. Put it in to perspective, and this is an outright bargain on the world stage. The 2007 is a brilliant follow up to our last shipment, a wine that had many wine lovers declaring Sena to be one of the finest reds they'd tried.

Produced from a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Carmenere and 12% Merlot with the balance being Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot harvested from bio dynamically run vineyards. Maturation took place in 100% new French oak barrels from a selection of the finest cooperages and was aged for 22 months. Outstanding black dark crimson red colour with deep crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, blackcurrant, tobacco, cedar and spice. Powerful concentrated palate flavours of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, liquorice, spice, cigar box and cedar all magnificently integrated displaying exceptional depth. Fine grained, firm tannins but in perfect balance to the volumes of fruit. Exceptionally long aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and cedar.
Cellar 8-10 years (2020-2022).

Other Reviews... "...Sena was originally a joint project of Eduardo Chadwick, owner of Errazuriz, and the Robert Mondavi empire. Since the demise of Mondavi, Sena is entirely under the control of Chadwick. The fruit is sourced from Sena’s biodynamically farmed vineyard... It puts forth an enthralling bouquet of sandalwood, underbrush, exotic spices, incense, floral notes, blueberry, and blackcurrant that borders on kinky. Already remarkably complex on the palate, with layered flavors, a plush palate feel, and precision balance, this beautifully rendered offering will evolve for another 6-8 years and provide a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2032".
