A big ripping red from Reilly’s

Reilly's started from humble beginnings in 1993 when the first vintage was processed on the front porch of a historical cottage on the property. Over the years the winery has steadily grown, outstripping the capacity of the cottage. Production has now moved to a state-of-the-art facility in nearby Leasingham. A new, modernised, sleek looking label adorns the Dry Land Shiraz, which is a vast improvement on the old 80’s styled packaging. Matured for two years in American oak the wine displays an opaque, black dark crimson red colour with black heart and very deep dark red hue. Perfumed aromas of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate, liquorice allsorts and confectionary. Rich and very generous the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some confectionary and a touch of toasty vanillin oak. Excellent concentration and depth with fine grained, slightly firmish but balanced tannins. Very long aftertaste of liquorice, aniseed, confectionary, toasty vanilla and spice.
