2007 Penfolds St Henri Shiraz

Totally opaque, deep black purple colour, with deep black crimson hue. The nose displays lifted top notes of ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some dark plum, confectionary and spice. Full bodied, the palate displays impressive richness, yet at the same time is quite elegant. Mouthfilling palate flavours of ripe blackberry and dark plum are followed by some liquorice, dark chocolate and spice. The fruits opulence is held in check by slightly dryish, but very fine grained tannins, that are perfectly integrated. Exceptional length, with very long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, dark plum and spice.
