The Paradise IV Vineyard was originally established by Swiss immigrant Henry Dardel in 1848 on the banks of the Moorabool river near Batesford. The vineyard was replanted in 1988 and is sited on a North East slope composed of decomposed granite sand over limestone.

A Bordeaux blend with 10% Shiraz. Very deep black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Aroma of blackcurrant, followed by violets, spice, cedar, plum, vanilla and confectionary. The palate delivers flavours of dark chocolate and blackcurrant with a hint of mocha and spice. There is a very distinctive black and white pepper back palate. Velvet tannins. Very long aftertaste of spice, black pepper, plum and dark chocolate.
