2007 Hewitson The Mad Hatter Shiraz

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Aromas of plum, confectionary, blackberry and aniseed with some spicy cedar background notes. Full bodied, fleshy and opulent the palate displays flavours of ripe plum, vanilla and mocha followed by confectionary, spice and liquorice with some toasty notes on the finish. Fine grained velvet smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe plum, mocha, confectionary, vanilla and toast. A very fine effort from what is generally regarded as a lesser vintage.
