Grosset’s Gaia vineyard is at high altitude located close to the peak of the Clare Valley. Fruit was hand harvested, followed by fermentation on skins at a relatively high temperature of 28 degrees before pressing. The wine was matured in French oak barriques for sixteen months and then received a further 12 months bottle age before release. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot.

Opaque dark red black colour with deep dark red hue. The nose is a delightful refined sniff with perfumed aromas of violets, cassis, mulberry, cedar and spice displaying excellent varietal character and intensity. The palate delivers concentrated flavours of ripe blackcurrant, mulberry, spice and cedar followed by some tobacco characters on the finish. Fine grained, slightly firm but balanced tannins with very long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, cedar and spice. Cellar 4-5 years. Alc 14% Stelvin
