2007 Gemtree Vineyards Uncut Shiraz

The 2007 vintage in McLaren Vale experienced one of the worst droughts on record, requiring very judicious use of water. The vintage started 4 weeks early (which was another record for Gemtree), the quantity of fruit harvested was dramatically reduced which in turn produced a highly concentrated wine.

Opaque black crimson colour with purple hue, showing good cling to the glass. Excellent lifted nose of liquorice, spice, vanilla and plum. The palate flavours are generous, with spicy black and white pepper evident, followed by plum, spice, cedar and vanilla. Velvet tannins. Very spicy black pepper aftertaste.
