2007 Douglas Laing & Co. Provenance Glengoyne 9 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Highlands, SCOTLAND
$110.00 Bottle
  • ABV 46%

Glengoyne is now the only distillery that continues to use majority Golden Promise barley and one of a dwindling few to completely avoid peat. The resulting whisky lets the purity of the barley take centre stage, positioning Glengoyne firmly at one end of the malt whisky spectrum - relatively light bodied, but with surprising depth and a trademark grassy / fruity interplay that’s a delight.
This indie edition was distilled in 2007 and bottled in August 2016 with an outturn of 402 bottles. Flavourwise it's been described as a "Hot Toddy" style.

Fred Laing, Director of Malts at Douglas Laing, believes that the region where the barley grows and the spirit is distilled imparts unique characteristics to whisky. This, he calls, the whisky’s “Provenance”, and so the range of Small Batch, often Single Cask bottlings, from an impressive portfolio of Scotland’s Distilleries is aptly named. Ranging from the “Young & Feisty” bottlings to aged expressions, the Provenance collection is noted for its absence of colouring or chill-filtration and relatively high alcohol strength, typically 46%.
