2007 Domaine Mongeard Mugneret Vieille Vigne Echezeaux Grand Cru

Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. Perfumed aromas of violets, dark cherry and some meaty game like notes are followed by a touch of earth and some spice. The palate is relatively light in terms of weight possessing a regal elegance that only the top wines from Burgundy seem capable of extracting from the noble Pinot Noir varietal. Gamey dark cherry flavours are followed by some spice and earthy cedar. Excellent power wave. Dry finish with very fine grained perfectly balanced tannins. Long aftertaste of dark cherry, game, earth and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years (2016-2017).
