Another knockout value from the Rhone 2007, a year summed up by Robert Parker as 'the vintage of a lifetime'. Opaque dark red black colour with deep dark crimson red hue. Aromas of dark cherry, black plum, liquorice and spice are followed by a hint of leather. The palate displays excellent concentration and body weight with flavours of liquorice, blackberry and dark plum followed by some spice and underlying meaty leather like characters. The core of ripe fruit is framed by firm, dry chewy tannins that provide the wine with excellent structure. Long aftertaste of liquorice, plum, blackpepper and leather.
Cellar 4-5 years. Alc 14.5%

Other reviews... As I have written in the past, this biodynamically farmed estate is a treasure-trove of excellent as well as value-priced wines. Proprietor Daniel Boulle offers a multitude of cuvees, and his 2007s seem to hit all the sweet spots on the palate. The 2007 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Les Trois Cepages is a blend of equal parts Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah. One of the finest examples of this cuvee I have tasted, it possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a beautiful bouquet of framboise, dark fruits, spice box, soy, blackberries, and truffles. Medium to full-bodied and earthy, with excellent fruit and a luscious texture, it should provide plenty of enjoyment for another 4-5 years. 91 points - Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate.size>
