Another first class effort

Semi translucent crimson mauve colour with mauve crimson hue. Delightful sniff with perfumed aromas of violets, dark cherries, anise and spice emanating from the glass with some underlying cedar notes. The palate is a little more structured and not quite as fleshy as the 2006. Spice, dark cherry and dried meat flavours are followed by a touch of anise and some gamey earth like characters on the back palate. Excellent structure with good power wave and fine grained, well integrated tannins. Very long spicy, dark cherry, cedar and dried meat aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2014-2015).
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews.....
Good crimson-purple hue, although not 100% bright; as ever, a complex and powerful wine, with black cherry and plum up front, then spicy/savoury/forest notes accompany the fruit on the back-palate and finish. No doubting the security of the screwcap in protecting freshness. Screwcap.
