Cellar: 2 - 3 Years (2011-2012)
ABV: 14.5%

Deep crimson purple colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays muted aromas of black cherry, confectionary and spice. Flavours of ripe black cherry, raspberry and confectionary are swamped by very dry aggressive tannins, leaving the taster with a mouth puckering sensation which flows onto the aftertaste. The aggressive tannins suck the mouth completely dry like a dentists vacuum. A complete departure in style to previous vintages in which this wine had established a reputation as the voluptuous ‘Dolly Parton’ styled Grenache of the collection. 2-3 years may see the tannins better integrate, although we see them being problematic throughout the wine's life.
Cellar 2-3 years (2011-2012)
14.5% Alc

Other Reviews….
The 2007 Grenache Blewitt Springs is more reticent aromatically as well as tighter and more structured on the palate than the first two wines. There is tannin to resolve in the finish as well, although the wine has enough fruit to come into balance with 3-4 years of additional cellaring. It will never be a friendly style of Grenache.
