Chateau du Cros is situated on the opposite bank of the Garonne River to Sauternes. Proprietor Michel Boyer maintains that in great years, du Cros can produce as good a wine as any from the other side of the river. Nick Chlebnikowski recalled a visit when Boyer opened a bottle of 1927 Ch. du Cros and compared it next to a 1927 Ch. d’Yquem. He made his point!

Deep golden colour with gold, brassy edges and pale gold hue. Quite deep and advanced for a 2007. The nose displays good intensity with aromas of dried honey, ripe apricot and spice. The palate displays tremendous concentration and richness along with a thick viscous texture and relatively soft acidity. Flavours of honey, apricot, peaches
and spice. Clean finish with long aftertaste of honey, ripe apricot, spice and honeycomb.
A super ripe, fat and very concentrated Loupiac.
Cellar 3-4 years (2013-2014)
Alc 14.0%
