2007 Cape Mentelle Wallcliffe Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

This wine has been matured in 1 year old French oak. Bright pale straw colour with a tinge of green and water like hue. The nose displays good intensity with aromas of ripe gooseberry and herbaceous grassy notes followed by some cedary pencil shavings like characters. The palate displays good body weight with flavours of ripe and unripe gooseberry, grassy herbaceous characters and pencil shavings followed by a touch of citrus. Clean crisp very dry finish. Aftertaste of cedar, unripe gooseberry, citrus and mineral.
