A magnificent result.

First produced in 1962 the concept of The Signature was born from a comment made at the annual dinner of the Adelaide Stock Exchange. The then Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies declared, "Gentlemen, this is the finest Australian red wine I have ever tasted." The Signature is the best wine of the vintage and honours individuals who have made a significant contribution to Yalumba's success. The 2006 vintage’s signatory is Ralph Dunning, Yalumba’s marketing manager.
This iconic Australian blend is a must for any serious collector.

Matured for 22 months, a complex barrel regime is employed including the use of American, French & Hungarian oak, both new and of various ages. Outstanding saturated black crimson colour with black heart and very deep black crimson hue – a superb start! The nose displays excellent lift with a complex perfumed aromatic profile of blackcurrant, violets, cedar, blackberry and spice. Full bodied and powerful, yet elegantly structured the palate displays a flavour profile of blackcurrant, cedar, blackberry, dark chocolate and spice. Superb depth of flavour and very fine grained perfectly integrated tannin structure. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and spice.

Matured for 22 months in American, French and Hungarian barrels coopered at Yalumba. Provides a journey based on grace, elegance and purity; fresh, vibrant and largely unevolved, the potent black-berried fruit is pure and poised, and the tannins are silky and fine; the vibrancy of the fruit core is electric, as is the persistence of the finish.
