A very tight knit Wynn’s Cabernet that needs plenty of time in the cellar to blossom. This is the sort of wine that need to be decanted and left for 24 hours prior to serving, however, not many people will go to that kind of trouble, so opening and drinking immediately will need a good piece of medium to rare meat to accompany the wine.
Very deep black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Top note of spice, followed by liquorice, cassis and blackcurrant delivering a perfumed sniff. The palate structure is there but time is required for it to integrate. Flavours of spice, blackcurrant, liquorice and mocha are evident and run into the aftertaste with dry, chalky tannins persisting.
Cellar 5-8 years (2013-2016)
Alc/Vol: 14%
