Produced from old dry grown vineyards, compared to the 2005 Run Rig, this wine was disappointing. Very deep crimson, brick red colour with crimson, brick red hue. Showing bottle development. Perfumed nose – Aroma of dried apricot, spice, blackberry and vanilla. The palate delivers flavours of spice, white pepper, plum and cedar with nuances of confectionary and vanilla. Velvet tannin structure. Aftertaste of confectionary and vanilla.
Cellar 2-3 years (2011-2012)
Alc/Vol: 15.5%

Other reviews...
The flagship 2006 Run Rig is a blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier. A saturated purple color, it sends up a complex bouquet of cigar box, Asian spices, incense, bacon, plum, and blueberry. On the palate it admirably combines power and elegance. Layers of succulent fruit are nicely complemented by the wine’s generous framework. Another 4-6 years of cellaring should fill it out with style.

Still tight and taut, the glorious 2006 RunRig looks capable of aging through at least 2030. Floral notes appear on the nose, along with ripe raspberries. This is surprisingly young, vibrant and fresh, with a long, silky finish. Drink 2010-2030.
