The 2006 Brut Vintage from Champagne Pol Roger is made from the traditional house vintage blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay sourced from 20 Grands and Premier crus vineyards located in the Montagne de Reims and the Cotes de Blancs. It is aged for 8 years before being disgorged and released.

Yet another magnificent vintage Champagne from Pol Roger and despite recent price increases remains one of the best values in vintage Champagne from the big houses.

Pours with a creamy white mousse displaying a pale gold base wine colour with a very profuse bead being exceptionally fine. A combination of refinement, intensity and complexity the nose has all of Pol Roger’s classic trademarks with aromatics of baked bread, yeast lees and some toastiness as top notes over faint dried honey intermixed with cashew and light baked pear. Rich palate flavours of baked bread, yeast lees and toasted dried honey stream their way across the palate creating a full creamy sensation followed by subtle roasted almond characters and trace of citrus. Dry finish with well balanced acidity. The conclusion long and powerful with baked bread, toasty dried honey, yeast lees and almonds. A fuller styled Champagne in comparison to the recent 2002 & 2004 releases.
Drink over next 4-5 years.
Alc 12.5%
