This rare wine was produced from a single vineyard planted in 1885 by the Schrapel family located in the Ebeneezer district. Medium body, crimson colour with crimson hue. The colour is holding up well. Perfumed nose with violet top note, followed by liquorice, dark chocolate, vanilla and spice. Concentrated palate flavours of vanilla, liquorice, mocha and dark chocolate over a layer of cedar and toasted oak. Back palate flavours of liquorice and dark chocolate. Fine dryish tannins. Aftertaste of toasted oak and black pepper.
