2006 Paxton Jones Block Shiraz

Paxton’s Jones Block vineyard has vines with an average age of 46 years and is biodynamically farmed. Yields were on average 2.5 tonnes per acre. The wine was matured for approximately 20 months in French oak (75%) and American oak (25%) barriques of which 45% was new, 30% 1 year old and 25% older.

Opaque dark crimson red black colour with dark crimson mauve hue. Aromas of dark plum, blackberry, liquorice allsorts and confectionary with a hint of mocha. Full bodied with generous mouthfilling flavours of liquorice allsorts, confectionary and blackberry followed by a spicy blackpepper back palate. Fleshy texture. Fine grained velvet smooth tannin structure with long aftertaste of liquorice allsorts, blackpepper and spice.
