2006 O'Leary Walker Claire Reserve Shiraz

The Claire Reserve Shiraz is O’Leary Walker’s flagship wine sourced from 116 year old vines located in the Polish Valley and is only produced in top vintages. The wine is matured for 2 years in a combination of new, 1 year old and 2 year old small French oak hogsheads.

Totally opaque black crimson red colour with deep dark red hue. Liquorice and confectionary top notes leap out of the glass and are followed by aromas of mocha, dark plum and vanilla. Opulent, rich and very concentrated the palate displays mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, mocha, dark plum and vanillin chocolate with a toasty back palate. Outstanding length. Voluptuous texture with velvet smooth tannins and very long aftertaste of mocha, liquorice, confectionary and toast.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2010-2015).
