The fruit for this outstanding Blanc de Blancs is sourced from the same village Krug and Salon make their incredibly expensive luxury Champagnes ($500++). Founded in 1937, Le Mesnil produce 100% Chardonnay cuvee’s from Grand Cru vineyards on the chalk soils of the Cotes de Blancs. The house takes its name from the town 'Le Mesnil-sur-Oger', 20 km south of Epernay and one of only 17 Villages in the Champagne region with the right to the designation 'Grand Cru'.

Excellent white frothy mousse which once dissipated reveals a pale straw base wine colour with an exceptionally fine bead that shows excellent persistence. Pronounced aromas of baked bread, cashew, toast and yeast lees arise from the glass followed by some faint citrus notes. Full and rich with a creamy mouthfeel, this a Champagne of superb persistence and concentration featuring yeast autolysis characters, baked bread, cashew, toast and biscuity almond like flavours. Dry finish with clean crisp acidity. Very long aftertaste of baked bread, yeast lees, toast and cashew. Limited Stocks
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
