The Greenstone Vineyard is on the ridge of old Cambrian soil that runs through the eastern side of the Camel Ranges. The soils are volcanic in origin, containing high levels of calcium, with soil pH over 7. The vineyard is planted to Shiraz, Tempranillo, Monastrell and Sangiovese. The vines are planted in east-west orientation which ensures a more gradual ripening process.

An outstanding Heathcote Shiraz.

Very deep crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Perfumed nose with superb lift. Top note of violet, followed by spice, vanilla and freshly crushed blackberry. The palate delivers flavours of ripe plum, vanilla, black pepper and liquorice delivering a mouthfilling flavour profile. Excellent length and depth. Velvet tannins. Very long aftertaste of black pepper and liquorice.
Cellar 5-8 years (2013-2016)
Alc/Vol: 13.5%

Other reviews...
Grapes picked at optimal ripeness, producing a wine that is stacked with regional black fruits but has no alcohol-derived sweetness; long finish with fine-grained tannins.
