2006 Glen Eldon Twisted Trunk Reserve Shiraz

Sourced from vines planted in 1865 this Shiraz was matured in a mixture of new and 2 year old French and American hogsheads for 24 months followed by extended maturation in older oak for 24 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with deep dark brick red hue.Perfumed aromas of ripe blackberry, liquorice allsorts, mocha, dark chocolate and vanillin oak. Full bodied the palate delivers an opulent and decadent flavour profile of dark plum, ripe blackberry, dark chocolate bullets, mocha and vanilla. Velvet smooth tannins and voluptuous mouthfeel. Very long dark chocolate bullets, dark plum and vanillin spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2012-2017).
