2006 was a very strong vintage in McLaren Vale producing highly concentrated reds. Spectacular black purple colour with black purple hue. Excellent cling. Top note of blackberry juice followed by spice, vanilla and liquorice allsorts. Big peppery palate, with flavours of black pepper and blackberry. Fine dry, slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of blackberry, vanilla and spice.

Other Reviews...
From 40-year-old vines, open-fermented, basket-pressed and aged for 16 months in French and American oak. Deeply coloured, it has an opulent but not jammy bouquet and palate, with a range of blackberry, licorice and dark chocolate fruit supported by positive, though not aggressive oak and ripe tannins.
Drink 2008-2015 with grilled T-bone steak
