2006 Domaine La Barroche Terroir Chateauneuf Du Pape

Near opaque deep dark red colour with brick red mauve hue. Lifted aromas of black raspberry and dark plum are followed by some spice, dried herbs and a new leather earth like overtone showing good intensity. Full bodied and very concentrated the palate displays generous flavours of black cherries, spice and liquorice with a meaty leather like back palate. There’s a very slight hint of heat on the finish. Fine grained, dryish but balanced tannins. Long aftertaste of black cherry, spice and dried meat. A big, concentrated and very ripe Chateauneuf du Pape.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2014-2015).
