2006 Domaine A Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot this world class Tassie Cabernet was matured in 100% new French oak for 3 years then given a further 2 years bottle age before release. Outstanding colour – holding up exceptionally well at 8 years of age. Totally opaque inky black core with deep dark red black hue. Perfumed aromas of ripe blackcurrant intermixed with violets fill the nostrils followed by nuances of dark mulberries, dusty cedar, subtle leather and spice. Bordeaux like in its construction with a soft elegant mouthfeel the palate has no shortage of richness and power with mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackcurrants interlaced with some earthiness followed by some cedar, light leather and spice. Dryish finish with solid but very fine grained well integrated tannins. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant, earth, cedar and spicy leather.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
