2006 Cobaw Ridge Chardonnay

For the ‘faint hearted’ you’ll find some harmless tartrate crystal deposits under the cork and at the bottom of the punt. Pour carefully! All this means is that the wine has not been cold stabilised. Most wines are held at 4°C for a few days, which causes the tartrate to fall to the bottom of the tank prior to being ‘decanted in tank’ and bottled.

Bright straw colour with water like hue. Superb nose of white peach, yeast lees and hazelnut. Generous creamy palate texture – full bodied with flavours of hazelnut, roast almonds and yeast lees. Clean acid finish. Very long aftertaste of yeast lees, hazelnut and almonds.
