Spectacular colour – a saturate of black purple with black purple hue. Violet top note followed by liquorice and vanilla, a little less obvious than the Brookman (a minor criticism at this level). Strong notes of blackberry and black pepper. Full bodied palate with Barossa like voluptuous texture. Mouth coating flavours of violet infusions, vanilla, blackberry, plum and black pepper. The palate is restrained at first but evolves to deliver exceptional length and depth. There is a touch of smoky oak that evolves on the back palate,

Other Reviews…
The 2006 Syrah Onkaparinga is Cote-Rotie-like with its splendid perfume of bacon, grilled meat and supple texture. This may be the sexiest of the Syrah offerings, one which will have a wide window of peak drinking.
