2005 Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon

A very well made Cabernet which has had a small percentage of Merlot and Cabernet Franc added to it. Medium body, crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Top note of blackcurrant, followed by cassis. The nose continues to evolve with violet, truffle, spice and liquorice allsorts notes following. The palate has good weight, with fine dryish tannins which are slightly dusty. Aftertaste of cassis and blackcurrant with spice persisting.

First Tasted:
A small percentage of Merlot and Cabernet Franc have been added to this Cabernet. Medium body, crimson mauve colour with mauve purple crimson hue. Superb nose of violets, followed by cassis, blackcurrant and spice – displaying impressive lifted Cabernet character. The palate delivers flavours of blackcurrant and spice followed by a hint of anise and just a hint of tea leaf. The structure is relatively tight knit, supported by fine chalky tannins.
