2005 Wayne Thomas Petit Verdot

Wayne Thomas has produced a succession of excellent vintages of Petit Verdot which are amongst the country’s best examples of the variety.

Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue, showing excellent cling to the glass. Top note of black cherry, followed by spice with light truffle earth end notes. Rich mouthfilling palate with big blackberry and spice flavours counterpointed by fine grained, dry, firmish tannins. There is an inky, black cherry and spice back palate – an excellent food wine. Aftertaste of black cherry and spice and fine dry tannins persisting.
