Steve Hoff, a sixth generation descendent of early Barossa settlers established his winery in 1984. Located in Marananga, a sub district of the Barossa Valley, he has quietly gone about establishing a reputation for producing high quality, rich, flavour filled Barossa Shiraz.

Rossco’s is Heritage Wines’ flagship Shiraz, produced only in vintages of exceptional quality. Fruit is predominately sourced from Steve’s neighbour, Ross Kalleske (known as Rossco throughout the district). The vines are over 70 years old and very low yielding (approx 2 tonnes per acre) producing very concentrated fruit. The grapes are fermented in open fermenters & the finished wine is then matured for 18 months in a combination of new (20%) and old American oak barriques.

Another outstanding effort from the 2005 vintage which is proving to be a benchmark vintage for the region producing extraordinarily complex, rich, flavour filled wines.

Very deep almost opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Top note of vanilla and spice followed by a confectionary end note. The palate is refined with flavours of liquorice, black pepper, spice and plum. Excellent length with vanilla emerging on the back palate, followed by black pepper and spice. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Very long aftertaste of black pepper and liquorice. A superb Barossa Shiraz.
Cellar 4-5 years (2012-2013)
Alc/Vol: 15.2%

The vast majority of this wine is exported, however, we have been able to secure a small allocation which we anticipate will disappear quickly given the quality of the vintage.
